Lenovo has introduced a new smartphone, Lenovo A5000. Launched in Russsia, the new Lenovo smartphone is priced at RUB 12,000 ($227 roughly Rs. 14561.70). The main highlight of the smartphone is its 4000 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and is promised to receive a Lollipop update later.
The Lenovo A5000 has a 5-inch 720p IPS display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor along with 1GB of RAM. The phone comes with 8GB of built-in storage. It sports an 8MP auto focus rear camera and 2MP fixed focus front facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, and GPS.
There's no word on when the phone will be launched in other markets, but looking at the trend, we can hope Lenovo will launch its new budget smartphone in the Indian market as well.
After having tasted success with A6000, Lenovo has focussed on the budget segment. It recently launched phones such as the A7000 and A6000 Plus. While the A7000 is priced at Rs. 8,999, the A6000 comes for 7,499. Both the phones are available online. The company has also disclosed it will be putting up 100,000 units of the A6000 Plus smartphone, which goes on sale on Flipkart on April 28.
