Dual-camera smartphones seem to be the next big thing, and a recent leak suggests that LeEco may be the next company to launch a smartphone with dual-camera imaging module. An image alleged to show the rear panel of the next LeEco smartphone has been leaked by Phone Radar, and shows the cut-out for dual-lens and flash placed in one module. Underneath the camera unit is the hole for a fingerprint sensor, while the top and bottom of the rear panel have the antenna bands.
LeEco is holding an event in China tomorrow, where it is expected to launch a new smartphone. Previous reports have suggested that the company may launch a smartphone with 8GB of RAM, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 823 SoC (which may also be called Snapdragon 821). It is also tipped to feature a 25MP rear camera. However, a LeEco smartphone with model number LEX720 was benchmarked on AnTuTu. As per the listing, the phone features a 1080p display and is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8996 Pro SoC, which is tipped to be the model name of the next generation Snapdragon 823 chipset. Further, the listing shows that the device is powered by 4GB of RAM instead of 8GB, and a 16MP primary camera instead of 25MP. It is possible that the leaks are pointing to different LeEco devices or even multiple variants of a single smartphone. For now, we will have to wait till tomorrow to find out more.
