LeEco acquired a majority share in Coolpad a few months ago, and the two companies have now launched their first smartphone together. Called the Cool 1 Dual, the sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 652 SoC, similar to the one found on the Le 2. However, the highlight of the phone is the dual 13MP rear cameras. One camera takes monochrome images, while the other takes colour photos, similar to the system used in the QiKu Q Terra and the Huawei P9. The camera also comes with a dual-tone flash and is able to record 4K videos. Further, The Coolpad 1 also comes with a 4060mAh battery and runs Android Marshmallow with LeEco’s eUI v5.6 layered over it.
The Cool 1 Dual is available in China in three variants, The 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,099 (approx. Rs. 11,100), while the 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs. 15,100). The highest variant offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and is priced at CNY 1,699 (approx. Rs. 17,100). The devices are available from LeMall and Coolpad’s official online stores as well as from JD.com. The phone is currently only available in China and it is not known if or when it will be launched in India.
