Xperia Z4 leaked screenshots reveal Sony’s take on Android Lollipop
A bunch of leaked screenshots of the Xperia Z4 give a first glimpse at how Android 5.0 will look on upcoming Sony devices.
Sony had confirmed that it will start seeding the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Z range starting in February. While we still haven't heard of or seen the new update, it seems that Sony may just finally launch the update once it announces the new Xperia Z4. Speaking of which, a bunch of screenshots have emerged which could be from the Xperia Z4 Dual.
The screenshots don't reveal the model number but they do point out that the device runs on a Qualcomm MSM8994 chip, which is the Snapdragon 810, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Such a high-end chip could only mean that the phone is the Z4 and the dual SIM settings tab confirms that there will be a dual SIM version of the phone as well.
From the looks of the UI, it doesn't appear very exciting and looks almost similar to the older UI on KitKat with slightly more splashes of colour. In all fairness, almost all the OEMs have played it safe and kept the same old UI with light changes on Lollipop. The navigation keys have been changed, but the home key is not the one we've seen in stock Lollipop.
Hopefully an overhaul of the UI from Sony, and others, will arrive later this year. For now let's hope the new update starts rolling to all the devices soon.
