The LG G5 may come with a dual camera setup at the back and a metal body according to a leaked image. The picture was posted by a Reddit user called ‘mobile_leaks’ who also provided some details about the LG’s upcoming flagship phone. In addition, the image shows rear facing physical buttons which are located below the two cameras. According to the post, the dual camera setup will use 16MP and 8MP cameras and may come with laser autofocus and a colour spectrum sensor.
The prototype device in the image is placed inside a black case, which is designed to obscure the design of the phone. However, the metallic body of the device can be seen through holes in the case. The post on Reddit says that the phone will not have a removable battery, but will come with a microSD card slot. It also says that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB of RAM and will have an 8MP front camera. The phone may also come with a 5.3-inch Quad HD screen. The post also mentions a fingerprint scanner, but not a iris scanner which was tipped to be present on the device. Other features mentioned include an IR blaster, USB Type-C port, and a ‘Pressure sensor.’ It is not known if the pressure sensor is alluding to an atmospheric pressure sensor or a pressure sensitive screen.
Last month, Korea’s ETNews said that LG G5 would come with a metallic body and would be launched in the first quarter 2016. However, there is a possibility that the Samsung may have the exclusive rights to the Snapdragon 820 SoC till April 2016. This could mean that the phone may be launched sometime later. While rumours have suggested that LG will release its own chipset called Nuclun 2 next year, the chipset will most likely be launched in the the next variant of the LG V10 and not on the G5.
