Images alleged to be the case of the iPhone 7 have been leaked by Twitter user, @OnLeaks. The case doesn’t have a slot for the 3.5mm audio suggesting that Apple may indeed ditch the jack in lieu of the Lightning port. The case also has three cutouts at the bottom of the port. One for the Lightning port and two other slots for the speaker on either side of the port, hinting at a stereo speaker setup.
It has long been rumoured that Apple plans on removing the headphone jack in order to make the iPhone even slimmer. A few weeks ago, concept renders of the phone also suggested that the device will not come with a 3.5mm audio jack and would have a dual-speaker setup. It has also been suggested that Apple may also remove the Home button. Analyst Gene Munster has speculated that the company may use 3D Touch instead of the home button, while the Touch ID sensor may be moved to the side of the phone. The upcoming iPhone has also been tipped to come with a waterproof build, more RAM and storage options, maybe even a dual-camera setup.
