Cases purported to be of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Plus have been leaked and show the design of the upcoming smartphone. According to the images, the phone will come with a rectangular home button and a raised camera sensor at the back. The volume rocker keys are located to the left of the device and the power button on the right. At the bottom is a microUSB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a speaker grill. The cases also suggest that the ‘Plus’ variant of the Galaxy S7 might come with a 6-inch display.

These images match the 3D render of the phone that was released by uSwitch earlier this month. The render was based on the blueprints sent to third party case manufacturers to ensure the case matches the phone. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is also expected to come in an ‘Edge’ variant with a curved screen. It was earlier reported that the company may be planning on initially producing about 5 million units of their flagship phone. Out of this, 3.3 million units will be the 5.2-inch flat screen version while 1.6 million units will be the curved screen version.

Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported that the smartphone may come with a pressure sensitive display and a USB Type-C port. According to the publication, certain variants of the phone may come with a retina scanner as well as a camera that is optimised for low light photography. Samsung may use its newly introduced BRITECELL camera on the Galaxy S7 which focuses on improving image quality in low light conditions. The company also claims that the new camera is 17% thinner than other cameras. The Galaxy S7 has been tipped to be unveiled during the World Mobile Congress trade show that will be held in Barcelona in February.

Reports also suggest that Samsung will comes in two variants. One will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC, while the other will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 SoC. It is possible that Samsung will have exclusive rights to the Snapdragon 820 till April 2016.
