An anannounced Sony phone, codenamed H3213 Avenger has been spoted on a benchmark listing which suggests that that the company will finally join the dual-camera bandwagon. If the listing on GFXBench is correct, then we may see a new Sony smartphone offering a 16MP + 8MP camera at the front. Further, the front facing camera also seems to be able to capture videos in 4K. At the rear, the phone is tipped to feature a 21MP camera, which is also capable of shooting videos in 4K. Till now, Sony has dabbled into some selfie oriented smartphones such as the XA1 Ultra, which comes with a 16MP front facing camera, but the company still doesn't have a dual-camera phone in its portfolio.
As per the listing phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, which we recently saw on the new Moto X4 smartphone. The Sony ‘Avenger’ smartphone has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Further, the device is tipped to come with Android Oreo out of the box. There is a 6-inch display on the phone with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, which is listed to have 5-finger gesture support. Info about the battery size, display type, build quality and design are yet unknown. It should be noted that currently, the Sony Xperia XZ1 is the only smartphone aside from the two Google’ Pixel 2 devices to come pre-installed with Android Oreo.
If the said specifications are correct, we might see this phone joining Sony’s XA range of devices. The phone is likely to make its debut next year and there is no information on when the company plans to launch the device. Sony is also likely to replace its ‘Omnibalance’ design it uses right now in the next year with something more in trend. Speculators believe that Sony will finally bring a bezel-less device in the market next year.
