Lava is expected to launch a 5-inch phablet, called the Xolo A800, for Rs. 13,000 in December in India. Although not many details were given about the smartphone, it is expected that the A800 will be a mid range Android smartphone and will be placed between the recently launched A700 and the flagship X900.
A800 is expected to have a 1GHz dual-core processor Mediatek processor, Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and a large display, probably close to 5-inches with a 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The smartphone is also expected to house 512 MB RAM 4GB built-in storage expandable via a MicroSD card.
As of now, the 5-inch budget phablet category is getting quite populated with products like Micromax A110 Canvas 2, Wicked Leak Wammy Note, iBall Andi 5c, Spice Stellar Horizon, Zync Cloud Z5, Intex Aqua 5.0 and Mercury MagiQ to name a few. Recently, we spotted the Lava Xolo A700 on flipkart for Rs. 9,999. It boasts of dual-SIM capabilities (3G 2G), has a 5MP primary camera and a 0.3 secondary camera for video chatting. The smartphone has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 960×540 pixel resolution, and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. The Xolo A700 has 4GB of built-in storage that is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and is powered by a 1700 mAh battery.
