Lava has launched the X81 smartphone at Rs. 11,499. The phone features a 5-inch HD IPS display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 3GB of RAM. It offers 16GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 64GB. The device is equipped with a 2700mAh battery, which the company claims can offer 9 hours and 50 minutes of 3G talk time. At the back is a 13MP camera with a dual LED flash and an f/2.0 aperture lens, while at the front is a 5MP camera with a 84-degree wide angle lens. The device supports 4G and runs Android Marshmallow v6.0 with StarOS layered over it. The device will be available on Flipkart from June 13.
The Lava X81 will be up against other similarly priced devices like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the newly launched LeEco Le 2. The top variant of the Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The device offers 32GB of storage and a 4050mAh battery. It also sports 16MP and 5MP cameras. The LeEco Le 2 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 652 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The phone is equipped with 16MP and 8MP cameras. and offers 32GB of storage. The Le 2 also comes with a 1-year subscription to LeEco’s content ecosystem.
