Lava launches IRIS 454 and 502 Android smartphones, priced at Rs. 8,499
Lava has introduced two new Android smartphones to its portfolio - the IRIS 454 that boasts of HDMI out and the IRIS 502 that has a 5-inch display.
Lava has launched the IRIS 454 and 502 in India, entry-level Android phones that will face some serious competition from other manufacturers in the sub-Rs. 9,000 segment.
Priced at Rs. 8,499, the Lava IRIS 454 boasts of dual-SIM capabilities and runs on Android 4.0 ICS. In terms of its specifications, the smartphone has a 4.5-inch IPS qHD display, 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. The rear houses an 8MP camera where as the front has a VGA video-calling camera. It also houses a 1650mAh battery. It has 2GB of built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.
A unique feature about the IRIS 454 is that it supports HDMI out directly from the device, a feature that isn’t found in your everyday budget smartphone. The device is fairly slim at 9.9mm thickness and weighs a mere 154.6gms.
The Lava IRIS 502 on the other hand is a 5-inch smartphone priced at Rs. 8,499, the same as the IRIS 454. The device boasts of dual-SIM functionality and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean straight out of the box. In terms of its specifications, it has a 5-inch WVGA display, 1GHz processor along with 512MB of RAM. The rear houses a 5MP snapper whereas the front has a VGA video-calling camera. The device has 2GB built-in storage expandable via a microSD card. The smartphone also houses a 2000mAh battery.
For the sub Rs. 9,000 price point consumer can also take a look at some other devices available in the market such as Samsung Galaxy Ace, Xolo A700, Samsung Galaxy Music and the Xperia Tipo.
