Lava launches Flair P1 budget smartphone for Rs. 3,399
Lava Flair P1 to feature 3G support, 4-inch display and a host of features for Rs. 3,399
Lava has unveiled the Flair series of smartphones aimed at the entry-level segment, with the Flair P1. Aimed at first-time smartphone users, it is priced at Rs. 3,399.
According to a press release, the dual-SIM Lava Flair P1 features a 4-inch WVGA TFT display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels and 16 million colours. Under the hood, it is powered by an unspecified chipset running a 1GHz single-core processor. The display is powered by Mali 400 graphics engine, with Android KitKat v4.4 installed. Internal memory is 2GB, but can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD. While the 256MB of RAM may not provide enough ammunition to handle multitasking without stutters, it should be enough for basic use. The rear camera can capture a maximum photo resolution of 2 megapixels and even has an LED flash, along with a VGA front camera. The P1 also supports 3G connectivity, and has a 1400mAh battery.
While the Flair P1 isn’t really suited for multitasking or using heavy applications, Lava has targeted the phone at users who need a smartphone for using basic light apps. The Flair series was unveiled exactly one week after the launch of Lava’s similarly-priced and low-specced Iris 100 Lite, that runs on the outdated Android v2.3 Gingerbread, 512MB of internal storage and no 3G connectivity for Rs. 3,049/-. At an almost similar pricing, it is clear why one would want to go for the Flair P1 over the Iris.
