Lava Mobile has launched a budget music phone in partnership with music channel, MTV, called the Lava A16 MTV Phone. The device is available on retail shelves right now, priced between Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 4,500.
According to the press release, the device has been “specially designed for the MTV generation,” and can be shown off as a “stylish fashion accessory.” The Lava A16 features SRS WOW HD audio via its bundled earphones, which also has dedicated audio controls. The MTV-branded device also has a Yamaha PA system for an enhanced loudspeaker experience.
The Lava A16 MTV Phone has a 2.6-inch IPS LCD “high-resolution” screen, a 3.2MP camera with “LOMO effects”, and a 900 mAh battery. Other listed features include auto call recording, high-quality video player, mobile tracker, live wallpapers, multiple themes, Facebook app, as well as privacy protection features such as SMS and image locks. The phone is apparently also an “unbreakable” device, capable of withstanding impacts of up to 120 kg.
Commenting on the launch Mr. S.N. Rai, Director – Lava International Ltd., said, “Consumers are a fragmented lot, either they are considered to be tech-leaders / tech-savvy users or they primarily use their phones to stay connected and look good while doing so. We felt there was a definite gap in the market for mobile phones that cater to both ends of this scale. And this prompted us to launch Lava A16 that combines elegance and technology.”
