Karbonn has launched a dual-SIM Android phone in India, called the A30, for Rs. 12,990 (MRP). At the time of writing, the device is available on Flipkart for Rs. 11,990.

In terms of its specifications, the Karbonn A30 boasts of a dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandiwch. The key feature of this dual-SIM Android device is its 5.9-inch display with a resolution of 480×800.

Considering the size of the device the display resolution does feel a bit low. The rear of the device has an 8MP camera and the front has a 1.3MP camera for video chatting. The A30 weighs 280 grams, and is 10.7mm thick.

In terms of storage, the A30 boasts of 4GB (2.56GB user available) built-in storage expandable up 32GB via microSD card. Other features include Wi-Fi, 3G (7.2 Mbps HSDPA), Wi-Fi Hotspot, proximity sensor, 3D G-sensor, light sensor and more.

In the recent past we have heard rumours that the Samsung Galaxy Note III will sport a 6.3-inch display.

The line between the smartphone and the tablet started to blur when we saw smartphones launch that showed off a display larger than 5-inches. Now it seems that we will see devices launch that will blur the line between a phablet and the small 7-inch tablets. The launch of devices with such large displays will leave consumers spoiled for choice, as well as confused, as deciding the right product will be difficult.

We have seen quite a few budget phablets hit store shelves in India like the Zync Cloud Z5 (read our review here), iBall Andi 5C (read our review here), Intex Aqua 5, WickedLeak Wammy Note, Magicon mNote and more.
