If you have pre-booked a JioPhone and are waiting for delivery, you might need to wait a little longer depending upon the city you live in. According to The Financial Express (FE), Jio is tying up with logistics companies, in order to complete the massive number of deliveries for the JioPhone.
FE also claims that the JioPhones are being imported from Taiwan and Jio is planning to deliver a minimum of one lakh handsets every day in order to fulfill the expected rush. The imported units are expected to land at certain locations, and customers in these locations will get the devices first. Some of the locations where Jiophones can be expected to land first are Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. After the JioPhones land at these locations, Jio Centers and Reliance Digital Stores will start receiving them and then the phones will be sent directly to dealers.
If you are one of the users who were able to pre-book a JioPhone, you have the option to track your order, through both online and offline channels. In order to check the status of JioPhone booking status offline, users need to place a call on the phone number 18008908900 and follow the IVR instructions. After that you will receive an SMS displaying the details of your JioPhone booking, inlcuding the delivery date and the store details. Currently, users are receiving a null against both the aforementioned details. This will probably be fixed as soon as phone draws closer to the delivery dates.
In order to track JioPhone bookings online, users can use the MyJio app. Just open the MyJio app and tap on the Manage Booking option. On this screen you will need to provide your registered phone number and OTP. Users will be directed to the My Vouchers page. Again, as of now, the Status field is blank, but it should show the delivery date and the store where the phone can be picked up from, as soon as the deliveries begin. There is also an option of transferring the JioPhone booking using the MyJio app via the Transfer option in the Manage Bookings section.
JioPhone bookings have been suspended for the time being. The MyJio app and Jio's website had experienced issues when pre-bookings for the JioPhone started. Jio claims that even though consumers faced some issues, about 4 million have successfully pre-booked the Jio feature phone.
