Jelly Bean update for HTC One X rolls out in Asia and Europe
HTC has now started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the One X. This update is now live in the Asian and European markets, and will be available Over-the-air (OTA) on the phone.
The One X’s sibling, the One S, is next in line to receive the update, but no timeline has been mentioned regarding the roll-out. However, what is confirmed is that the One S will also get the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS version.
This brings the One X up to date with the latest Android version out there, pending Google’s next major announcement regarding Android 4.2.
As expected, the HTC Sense version has also been updated to 4.1, that brings in features like a secure box for messages, higher-res contact pics, calendar widget scrolling, eco mode and the ability to set up the phone the HTC Sense website.
The HTC One X was launched in India in the early part of summer this year. This update announcement and rollout is critical, since Samsung recently announced the phased Jelly Bean update release for the Galaxy S III.
Like always, we would recommend that you have a little bit of patience, since the update will reach on all phones in a phased manner.
