Leaked documents authored by Japanese telecom operator KDDI claim that the next iPhone (rumoured to be the iPhone 5S) will be revealed by Apple on June 20 and will hit stores in July. French blog No Where Else got its hands on the documents whose veracity is yet to be confirmed. It would be wise to not take these new rumours to heart especially considering the fact that Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that new devices from Apple would only show up from August 2013 onwards. Earlier rumours had also pointed at a September launch for the new iPhone, along with the possibility of less expensive iPhone models being launched at the same time as the premium model.
In any case, let’s get back to the KDDI documents. According to No Where Else, the documents also reveal some of the stand-out features that the new iPhone will be sporting. These include a brand-new 13MP camera and iOS 7, the former of which has been heavily rumoured but not yet confirmed while the latter is almost a certainty.
Other rumours about the next iPhone that the KDDI documents don’t talk about but have been floating around on the Internet include a smart flash for the camera that lets the user direct the flash at any subject in the frame and a fingerprint reader under the home button for added security. As per tradition, the 5S is expected to sport the same design as the iPhone 5.
