Is Xiaomi making a smaller version of Mi 5?
The rumoured device has been spotted with a 4.3-inch display, along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
After launching its flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, Xiaomi is rumoured to be making a new smartphone to rival the Apple iPhone SE. New rumours that surfaced on the web a day back suggest that a smaller, 4.3-inch Xiaomi smartphone is in the works. At present, there are no smartphones with flagship-class hardware to offer displays smaller than 5-inch panels, with the Apple iPhone SE being the only exception.
The leak comes via Weibo, where the phone is suggested to feature 4.3-inch display with 720p screen resolution. The device is suggested to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and 3GB of RAM. It is supposed to have 32GB of internal storage and a 13MP rear camera. The rumoured price of this device is about 1799 Yuan (Rs. 18,370 approximately).
Currently, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is the most affordable smartphone in the Indian market powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. However, Xiaomi's flagship is likely to see some competition from OnePlus, as the OnePlus 3 is all set to be launched soon. The OnePlus 3 is rumoured to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, with 4GB and 6GB RAM options. Moreover, the device is likely to be available in 64GB and 128GB storage options. OnePlus is also likely to introduce a new 16MP rear camera sensor on the OnePlus 3.
