If you’ve been waiting for the 1st and 2nd of December with bated breath, here’s some sad news for you. The launches of the Xiaomi 13, iQOO Neo 7, and iQOO 11 have been postponed, and while the companies have not indicated why this has been done, most people believe it is out of respect for former Chinese President Jiang Zemin. President Jiang Zemin passed away at the age of 96 yesterday.
Ahead of the launch date, the two companies had begun to reveal the specifications of their upcoming smartphones to create some buzz around the same. The two flagship smartphones will be equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC. They will also come with an AMOLED display and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The iQOO 11 and Xiaomi 13 will also come with a 50MP primary camera and will run on the Android 13 OS. The Xiaomi 13 will also run on the brands custom MIUI 14 skin, which was supposed to be revealed at the time of the launch.
The Xiaomi 13 flagship smartphone was scheduled to launch on 1st December this year, while the two iQOO offerings, the flagship iQOO 11 and iQOO Neo 7 were scheduled to launch on 2nd December. We may hear about the revised launch dates of the three smartphones before the end of this year, and this push in the launch may also lead to India launches getting pushed forward as a consequence
The delayed launch has also pushed the reveal of corresponding accessories such as the Xiaomi Watch S2 and the Buds 4 TWS.
The iQOO 11 Pro is believed to come with 200W fast charging support while the iQOO Neo 7 will have 120W fast charging support and will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC.
