Apple has been updating its iPhone SE for the past couple of years now. In each new iteration, the SE series has been based on the design of old models, and this time around, it looks like Apple is trying to borrow the iPhone XR design language. As the iPhone SE 4th generation has been rumoured to come with a similar design to the iPhone XR, let’s take a detailed look at what changes the iPhone SE 4 could bring!
Previous gen iPhone SE used for reference.
As per a report by Ross Young, a Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst, Apple will launch the next iPhone SE model in 2024 and the device will come with a notch like the older iPhones. Previously he predicted that the iPhone SE 4 will feature a Dynamic Island just like iPhone 14 Pro models, however, he has altered his prediction ever since the recent launch event.
Nonetheless, the device could now feature a 6.1-inch LCD display and a notch at the top of the display. The device would also reportedly shift to the iPhone XR design, meaning that Apple will completely stop using the Home button on iPhones. However, it is still not sure if the device will get Face ID or not as the SE is the cheaper device when compared to other iPhones.
The device could reportedly feature the Touch ID sensor in the power button just like the iPad Air and iPad Mini to keep the cost of the device low. Due to this, we’re still not sure about the size of the iPhone SE 4 notch. Unlike the iPhone XR, the SE might not feature the same components for Face ID, so there could be some changes made to the notch.
That’s so far what’s rumoured and expected from the upcoming fourth-generation iPhone SE.
