Apple’s iPhone 17 series is generating a lot of buzz as we approach its expected release in September 2025. The new iPhones are expected to bring significant changes in design, performance, and camera features. One of the most exciting updates could be Apple’s shift to in-house WiFi chips, which may enhance connectivity across its devices.

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared on X that Apple will replace third-party WiFi chips with its own in-house versions. According to Kuo, all iPhone 17 models will feature Apple-designed WiFi chips.

“Following Qualcomm, Broadcom’s Wi-Fi chips will also be replaced by Apple’s in-house chips at a faster pace. My latest industry survey indicates that all new 2H25 iPhone 17 models will feature Apple’s in-house Wi-Fi chips (vs. only the slim iPhone 17 will adopt Apple’s C1 modem chip). Beyond cost reduction, the switch to in-house Wi-Fi chips will enhance connectivity across Apple devices,” Kuo wrote on X.

Let’s take a look at what more to expect from the iPhone 17 series.
