It’s been four months since Apple launched the iPhone 16 series with the usual four models, and we are already seeing rumours and leaks on the iPhone 17 series now. In the latest development, we have heard that the iPhone 17 Pro will reportedly launch with a new and upgraded Periscope Telephoto sensor, moving on with the 12-megapixel Periscope sensor.
Now we know there is still a lot of time for the iPhone 17 series to launch globally but well rumours and leaks find their way out and many of them turn out to be true as well. So, let’s take a look at what Apple can plan to do with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max’s camera.
Previously, it was rumoured that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will sport a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor and a 24-megapixel selfie shooter. Now, according to a known tipster, DigitalChatStation, both the iPhone 17 Pro models will be launched with the above-mentioned camera sensors. This means that not only the iPhone 17 Pro phones will get an upgrade on main cameras but selfie cameras as well.
Now, upgrading from a 12-megapixel selfie camera to a 24-megapixel sensor is not a very big upgrade for Android users, but for Apple users, it is big. This is because Apple has been offering a 12-megapixel selfie camera on iPhones since the iPhone XR.
Apart from the cameras, the iPhone 17 Pro models can also see some changes in the design. They might feature the camera setup horizontally, according to leaks. Furthermore, they are expected to run on Apple’s A18 Pro chipset, which can be paired with up to 12GB RAM on the Pro Max model.
