While the iPhone 16 series is still fresh in the market, the iPhone 17 lineup is already generating excitement with leaks and rumours. Apple is expected to introduce four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new addition called the iPhone 17 Air or Slim. This new model could replace the “Plus” variant, offering a fresh take on the iPhone lineup.
Let’s take a closer look at what to expect from the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Apple is reportedly making significant changes to the design of the iPhone 17 Pro models. After years of using titanium and stainless steel frames, the company is said to be returning to aluminium, a material last seen in high-end iPhones with the iPhone X. The Pro models will likely have a hybrid back, combining aluminium at the top for durability and glass at the bottom to support wireless charging.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max could feature a narrower Dynamic Island, thanks to a new Face ID system that might use “metalens” technology. Additionally, the iPhone 17 series may come with an anti-reflective display that is more resistant to scratches compared to the current Ceramic Shield.
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to be powered by a new A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process. The Pro models may also come with 12GB of RAM.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a significant camera upgrade, with three 48MP lenses: a Wide, Ultra Wide, and Tetraprism Telephoto lens. Additionally, all iPhone 17 models will likely come with a 24MP front-facing camera, providing better selfies and video calls.
The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to start at Rs 1,19,900 in India, keeping the price similar to its predecessor. Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup in September 2025, continuing its tradition of fall launches.
