Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 series in September 2025, and leaks suggest some major upgrades are on the way. One of the biggest changes could be the end of the iPhone Plus model, with Apple reportedly introducing a new variant, possibly named the iPhone 17 Air. If these rumours turn out to be true, this would mark a major shift in Apple’s lineup.

Reports indicate that the company might use a mix of aluminium and glass for the back panel, making the iPhone 17 feel more premium. Another interesting change could be a horizontal camera layout, replacing the traditional vertical setup.
As for the display, the standard iPhone 17 is expected to come with a 6.3-inch screen. Apple might also bring its 120Hz ProMotion technology to all models.

The iPhone 17 will likely feature a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with 2x zoom. The front camera is expected to get an upgrade to 24MP, doubling the resolution from the current 12MP sensor.
Apple is expected to equip the iPhone 17 with the A19 chip, built on a 3-nanometer process. Connectivity might also improve with a custom Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 7 chip.

Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 17 series between September 11-13, 2025. In India, the standard iPhone 17 is expected to start at around Rs 79,900.
