The air around the recently launched iPhone 16 is yet to die down and the leaks about the next iPhone 17 series have started doing rounds. We recently came across leaks for a new iPhone 17 model. I am talking about the iPhone 17 Air, which is rumoured to replace the iPhone Plus variant next year. However, the device isn’t expected until next year. According to analyst Jeff Pu, Apple might unveil the iPhone 17 Air during the Apple event next year. There’s a lot of time before Apple hosts its annual iPhone launch event next year, but until then let’s take a look at what the initial leaks have to say about the iPhone 17 Air:

Starting with the design first, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to sport a redesigned look. It can even feature a lightweight titanium frame. As the name suggests, the device can have a much thinner profile. For this, Apple will reportedly slim down internal components. This can be the slimmest iPhone till now. And we might get to see some new earth-tone colour options too.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to carry a 6.6-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. We might get to see more vibrant colours and deeper blacks. Apple can also offer a 120Hz refresh rate with this. The iPhone 17 Air can also have an under-display Face ID sensor, which will further eliminate the need for a notch.

The iPhone 17 Air will likely be powered by Apple’s A19 chipset, as per rumours. It can be built using a 3nm process for enhanced performance and energy efficiency. Leaks suggest that this chip will improve multitasking, graphics performance, and machine learning.

Lastly, on the camera front, we might get to see a 48-megapixel main camera and a new periscope lens. It can even house a 24-megapixel selfie shooter in the front.

For now, it is best to take this information with a pinch of salt as there’s a lot of time before Apple finally launches this product.
