Apple is reportedly planning to announce new AI features with iOS 18.
Some generative AI features could be exclusive to the iPhone 16 lineup.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to be powered by new A-series chips.
Generative AI has become a focal point of interest among major tech companies, with Samsung recently joining the conversation by introducing its own generative AI model named ‘Samsung Gauss.’ Adding to this trend, there are reports suggesting that Apple is gearing up to introduce cutting-edge AI features with the upcoming iOS 18, with the possibility of certain generative AI capabilities being exclusive to the iPhone 16 lineup. It seems like there could be a tough competition with Apple and Samsung.
According to leaker @Tech_Reve, iOS 18 is anticipated to introduce the company’s new LLM to a vast number of current devices through cloud-based AI. However, it appears that the new on-device AI functionalities will probably be restricted to the iPhone 16, reports MacRumors.

Additionally, there are expectations for auto-generated Apple Music playlists and integration with productivity apps like Pages and Keynote, such as AI assistance for tasks such as writing and creating slide decks. The extent to which this AI integration might necessitate new hardware requirements remains unclear.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to be powered by new A-series chips, built on TSMC’s cutting-edge N3E 3-nanometer node. Apart from anticipated improvements in efficiency and performance, these chips could align with Apple’s AI objectives. It’s important to note that TSMC is the sole manufacturer for Nvidia’s H100 and A100 AI processors, crucial components in AI tools like ChatGPT and prevalent in AI data centers.
There are rumours that suggest that all models in the iPhone 16 series will likely feature an additional button. Internally known as the “Capture Button,” it might be a capacitive button situated alongside the Power button that is capable of detecting pressure and touch, providing haptic feedback when pressed.
