Last month, everyone couldn’t stop talking about the newly launched iPhone 16 series and the “new” additions that Apple had made to its flagship devices. Now, almost a month later, as the air around the iPhone 16 series has settled down, people are sharing their personal experiences. Some iPhone 16 Pro users are now complaining of battery drain issues without even running heavy tasks on their devices.
New iPhone 16 Pro users have expressed their disappointment and have revealed that their devices are running out of battery very rapidly. They further add that this happens even when they do not run heavy tasks on it. And not just that, this issue is even being faced by those users who have older generations of iPhones but have updated to iOS18, as per a MacRumors report.

Users are pretty frustrated and they are sharing their complaints on various platforms such as Reddit, the Apple Support Communities, and the MacRumors forums. One iPhone 16 Pro Max user shared on Reddit that they were losing 15-20% of their battery within just 3-4 hours while the device was idle. Several other users also shared similar experiences. Many users shared that their batteries were dropping from 90-100% to below 60% without any usage. Another user said that their fully charged iPhone 16 device drained to just 18% after being left idle overnight.
Apple is yet to address the issue and hence we don’t know what exactly is causing this issue. But a similar issue was reported last year too when iOS 17 rolled out. So it is possible that this issue is happening because of a software bug. Some users said that the issue was somewhat resolved when they updated to iOS 18.0.1 or the iOS 18.1 beta.
