Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 16 series on 9 September during its Glowtime event. Ever since then, and even before that, anticipation had started to build as fans could not wait to get their hands on the latest iPhone 16 phones. On September 20, the new iPhone 16 phones went on sale in India. And the fanfare behind them was maddening. People were standing in long queues just to get the iPhone 16 models first. The fanfare and demand for the new iPhones were such that the phones went out of stock within hours.

All of this directly translates into good news for Apple. India has remained the fastest-growing market for Apple in the past few years. A TOI report suggests that with the growing sales of the iPhone 16 in India, as compared to last year, will result in a record quarter for the Cupertino-based tech giant in India.

As I mentioned earlier, the physical Apple Stores in Delhi and Mumbai saw huge crowds. Even retailers and quick commerce platforms that were selling the latest iPhone variants saw a huge demand. Blinkit and BigBasket promised the delivery of the iPhones within minutes, and within minutes their stocks also ran out.

CyberMedia research revealed that both the base and the Pro models in the iPhone 16 series were really well received. Since the demand was so high, not everyone could successfully bag their iPhone 16s on the sale day and had to leave empty-handed.

A Counterpoint research revealed that Day 1 sales differed between the US and India. Compared to previous years, the Apple Stores in the US had more inventory to offer to walk-in customers.

All of this just reveals that the craze for the iPhones is only growing in India, and Apple must be rejoicing in the win.
