Apple is currently gearing up for its September launch event. Scheduled for September 9, Apple’s Glowtime event is set to be one of the biggest tech events of the year. At the event, the tech giant is expected to unveil the much-awaited iPhone 16 series, and other new devices.

Even though the iPhone 16 hasn’t hit the shelves yet, the rumour mill is already buzzing with leaks about the iPhone 17. A new leak hints that the iPhone 17 might come with increased RAM.

A user named “Mobile phone chip expert” revealed on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo that the iPhone 17 is expected to come with 12GB of internal memory. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 will likely only have 8GB of internal memory.

So, it looks like Apple is finally gearing up to boost the RAM in its iPhones, catching up to the Android competition by 2025.

iPhone 16 launch event details

Apple’s Glowtime event is scheduled for September 9. Apple will host this event at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (10:30 PM IST).

At the event, Apple is expected to unveil the much-awaited iPhone 16 series. This series will most likely include four smartphones: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

In addition to the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 10, the Watch Ultra 3 and a third-generation Apple Watch SE.

The tech giant might also unveil its fourth-generation AirPods at its Glowtime event. The AirPods 4 will likely be available in two variants, both equipped with a USB Type-C charging port. Furthermore, there is speculation that Apple might also launch the AirPods Max 2 headphones at the same event.
