Scheduled for September 9, Apple’s Glowtime event is set to be one of the biggest tech showcases of the year. Fans can expect the unveiling of the eagerly awaited iPhone 16 series, alongside a host of other devices that are sure to captivate Apple enthusiasts around the globe.
With the iPhone 16 series making headlines, here’s a quick roundup of what we know so far.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: Expected Specs
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will likely be powered by the A18 Bionic chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. The standard iPhone 16 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus might offer a 6.7-inch screen. The iPhone 16 is expected to pack a 3,561mAh battery and the iPhone 16 Plus might feature a 4,006mAh battery. Both smartphones are anticipated to include a dual-rear camera system, featuring a 48MP primary wide lens with an f/1.6 aperture and up to 2x zoom, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 0.5x zoom.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max: Expected Specs
The iPhone 16 Pro models are rumoured to offer larger displays, with the iPhone 16 Pro featuring a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max boasting a 6.9-inch display. The Pro Max is expected to have the thinnest bezels in the industry.
Both Pro models will likely be powered by the A18 Pro chipset. Battery capacities are anticipated to be 3,355mAh for the iPhone 16 Pro and 4,676mAh for the Pro Max. The phones might include a triple-rear setup with a 48MP primary sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera with pixel-binning technology.
The Pro models are also expected to support Apple’s ProRaw photos, the new JPEG-XL image format, and 3K video recording at 120 fps with Dolby Vision.

iPhone 16 series: Price in India (Expected)
The base models of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are anticipated to keep their previous generation pricing, starting at Rs 79,900 and Rs 89,900, respectively. However, the Pro versions are expected to see a price increase of Rs 10,000 in India. This would place the starting price of the iPhone 16 Pro at Rs 1,34,900 and the iPhone 16 Pro Max at Rs 1,59,900.
