Now, reports coming up reveal that Foxconn’s Indian unit at Tamil Nadu has also begun operations towards the same. Apple, under the best circumstances, could release its new line up of iPhone 15 series soon on September 15th. Keeping that deadline in mind, production has been pumped up.

The Foxconn Unit plant which is located in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu is expected to start delivering the iPhone 15 units only a few weeks after its Chinese counterparts. A source told ET that they are planning to increase the volume of new iPhones that are being produced in India.

This is all a part of Apple’s plan to diversify its production and move it out of the USA owing to the complicated relationship between the US and China that could eventually impact the trade.

India, on the other hand, is trying to build itself as a manufacturing hub and even trying to strengthen its ties with the States.

Earlier, as in before the iPhone 14 series, only a small number of iPhones were being manufactured in India, which meant an output gap of six to nine months from China. Last year when Apple produced 7% of its iPhones in India then this output was reduced majorly.
