Despite a slight drop in Apple’s share in the top 10, Samsung’s stronger showing has helped maintain the combined market contribution of the top 10 smartphones at around 19 percent. This shift in the rankings reflects the steady consumer demand for a variety of smartphones, from premium models to budget-friendly options.

One notable trend is the growing consumer interest in premium smartphones, particularly the Pro versions of iPhones. For the first time in a third quarter, Pro models accounted for half of Apple’s total iPhone sales. The report suggests that this is partly due to attractive financing schemes and trade-in offers, which have made the latest iPhones more accessible to a wider range of consumers, particularly in emerging markets.

Additionally, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 has continued to impress, remaining in the top 10 for the third consecutive quarter. The phone’s popularity can be attributed to its marketing focus on advanced GenAI capabilities. Samsung’s Galaxy A series also made a strong impact, with four of its models securing spots in the top 10, driven by competitive pricing and long software support.
