Apple just confirmed that it will roll out iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 in April 2025. With this update, it will bring along a couple of new features to the table. We can get to see features like new Apple News+ Food, smarter notifications, enhanced Apple Intelligence support, and improved music options. In addition to this, users in European Union will also get to set default apps for maps and translations. While the developer beta is already available, the stable version will launch for all eligible devices next month.
iOS 18.4 Release Date in India
Apple has not specified an exact release date in India, but the release is expected around April 15, 2025. With this upgrade, India might also get to see the new Apple Intelligence features.
Additionally, Apple Intelligence will now support French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified). More languages, including English (India, Singapore), Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Vietnamese, will roll out in phases through 2025.
Eligible Devices for iOS 18.4
iOS 18.4 will be available for the following iPhones: iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 series, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and iPhone SE (2nd & 3rd gen).
However, Apple Intelligence features will only be supported on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 models.
How to Download iOS 18.4
Once available, users can download iOS 18.4 by navigating to Settings then General and then Software Update. If automatic updates are enabled, the update will install overnight while the device is charging.

iOS 18.4 expected features
Apple News+ Food is one major addition coming with iOS 18.4. This is going to be a dedicated section within Apple News for subscribers. This feature offers thousands of recipes from top publishers like Bon Appétit and Allrecipes, along with food stories, healthy eating tips, and a cook mode.
There is also going to be Priority Notifications which will use Apple Intelligence and highlight the most important alerts on the Lock Screen. However, this feature will be exclusive to iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 series devices.
Apple has also introduced Ambient Music in the Control Center, allowing users to quickly access curated tracks in four categories: Sleep, Chill, Productivity, and Wellbeing.
