iOS 18.2 release date nears: These Apple Intelligence features will make your ‘latest’ iPhone more smarter

Apple is likely to release its next major software upgrade for eligible iPhones within the next two weeks. The upcoming iOS 18.2 update will introduce a plethora of new Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 series users.

Apple already states the iPhone 16 series as ‘built for Apple Intelligence’ and is rolling out new features in a phased manner with minor updates. Not only will it enhance the user experience, but the tech giant is also aiming to lure new customers.

According to MacRumors, the iOS 18.2 update is set to be released on December 9, as offered to consumers by British carrier EE. The EE announcement indicated that the Wi-Fi calling feature on other supported iCloud-connected devices will be stopped on December 9, implying that the update will arrive on the same day. The predicted release date makes sense because Apple is known for releasing updates on Mondays and has already promised an update in early December.

iOS 18.2 Features

Apple has introduced the new iOS 18.2 beta update to the public and it includes features like Genmoji, an Image Playground AI image app, ChatGPT integration with Siri, and visual search. However, not all of them will be available for the users immediately.

Here are some of the much-awaited Apple Intelligence features:

1. Image Playground: The users will be able to create some fun images within seconds by giving simple prompts. Notably, the users will be able to create two styles including the Animations and Illustrations.
2. Genmoji: Along with the photos, iPhone users will be able to create customised emojis based on the text prompts driven by AI.
3. Siri with ChatGPT integration: The users will also get the much-awaited option to access OpenAI’s ChatGPT with Siri. With the new integration, Siri will be able to help you with writing text, generating images and much more.
4. Writing Tools: The new update will bring in the Compose button using which the users will be able to create text related to the required topics. The users will also get an option named ‘describe your change’ for making the changes.
5. Visual Intelligence: For those who own iPhone 16 or above, will be able to use camera controls for better learning of the things around them.
6. Image Wand: The Notes application will become more interesting with the iOS 18.2 update. The users will be able to turn roughly drawn sketches into more delightful and meaningful images. The users will also be able to create images in the context of the notes.
