Which iPhones will be iOS 18 compatible?
If your iPhone is compatible with iOS 17, most likely it will support iOS 18 too. iOS 18 will be compatible with:
- the iPhone SE (2nd generation or later)
- iPhone XR,
- iPhone XS,
- iPhone 11 series,
- iPhone 12 series,
- iPhone 13 series,
- iPhone 14 series,
- iPhone 15 series,
- iPhone 16 series
However, devices from 2017 or earlier, such as the iPhone 8 and X, will not be eligible for the update.
But here’s a catch, even if your iPhone supports iOS 18, most of them will not support Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence will only work with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, in addition to the iPhone 16 series. The first set of Apple Intelligence features will roll out in October in the US, followed by availability in other English-speaking countries in December. Additional languages like Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish are expected next year.
Once iOS 18 is released, you can easily install it on your device by going to the settings section and checking for the update.
Are you excited for iOS 18? I am kind of upset that the AI features are not coming to other variants. What about you?
