Apple announced the iOS 18 last month, which focused majorly on AI. The tech giant is expected to launch iOS 18 very soon, most likely with the iPhone 16. In the latest development, some new features have been added to iOS 18 for Indian users. These features focus on customisation and communication enhancements, language and input improvements, and some more features as well. Let’s take a look at all these features below.
Lock Screen and Contact Posters: With iOS 18, Indian users can customise the lock screen time with Indian numerals from 12 different languages, font color, and weight for Contact Posters as well.
Live Voicemail Transcription: The update here is that the Live Voicemail Transcription will be available in Indian English.
Dual SIM Control: The Control Centre has been upgraded with the option for switching between SIMs.
Multilingual Keyboard: If you have an iPhone 12 or a newer model, you can type in English and two other Indian languages at the same time using Latin characters. This also includes features like QuickPath for swipe typing and Emoji Prediction.
Alphabetical Keyboard Layouts: It supports 11 Indian languages with vowels and conjunct keys to make typing in Indian scripts easier.
Enhanced Language Search: Users can now also search words on their iPhones in Assamese, Bangla, Devanagari, and Gujarati.
Multilingual Siri: Apple’s voice assistant, Siri, has been upgraded with 10 more Indian languages including Indian English. Interestingly, you can also talk to Siri in ‘Hinglish’ for Hindi responses.
Translate App: Hindi has been added to Apple’s Translate app, Safari, and other systemwide translation features.
Move to iOS App: Users now have a dedicated app to transfer data to their new iPhone from old phones. This app also allows wired and wireless transfer as well.
