Indian manufacturer Intex technologies is all set to unveil India’s first smartphone powered by the MediaTek MT 6592 Octa-Core processor.
Intex in its tie up with MediaTek, is the first Indian mobile company to offer this processor to Indian consumers. The True Octa-core solution by MediaTek is set to be launched globally this week.
Commenting on the announcement, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Business Head- Mobile, Intex Technologies said, “Our quest to become the top smartphone player in the industry has made us bring extraordinary products with such revolutionary technology in the hands of consumers. We have always banked upon our tech pedigree to meet the ever changing demands of Indian consumers. We are overwhelmed with the trust that MediaTek have put in us to create the best possible handset providing extraordinary user experience to consumers.”
Leaked benchmarks indicate that the chipset would easily compete against the SnapDragon 600 chipset and would be a little short of Snapdragon 800 as far as processor performance is concerned. However, its power efficiency and network capabilities still need to be tested.

It will sport a 6 inch HD IPS LCD screen. The phone will also house dual Yamaha 1420 speakers, along with a 13 megapixel rear shooter with BSI/AF and a 5 megapixel front camera.
In terms of connectivity, its supports GPS, Wi-Fi, FM, Bluetooth and will run on Android version 4.2.2.
