Intex & National Association for the Blind launch a phone for the visually impaired
Intex, in collaboration with the National Association for the Blind (NAB) has introduced a phone for the visually impaired, the Intex Vision – IN 2020. Developed at Intex’s Centre for Design & Development, the Intex Vision is a dual SIM phone (GSM GSM) with a large Braille keypad to facilitate recognition of digits. It is priced at Rs. 2,600.
The Intex Vision is meant for even those visually impaired folks who do not recognize Braille, facilitating complete access with a Talking Keypad feature, which will speak out the number in English. There is also an SOS button onboard, which allows users to save up to four emergency numbers, the first of which will be called once pressed.

Mr. Mohinder Kapur, President, National Association for the Blind, also spoke at the launch: “Blindness is a disability which could be overcome with training and guidance. The Intex Vision phone is an ideal tool for the visually impaired people to satisfy their communication needs. It can play a very useful role in their integrated development.”
