Intex Aqua i4+, 5-inch dual-core smartphone launched at Rs. 7,600

Intex Technologies has launched a new Android smartphone – Aqua i4 – in India. Priced at Rs. 7,600, the new Intex smartphone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 512MB of RAM.

The Intex Aqua i4 has a 5-inch display with 854×480 pixels resolution. It sports an 8MP camera with flash and 1.3MP front facing camera. It has 4GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD. For connectivity, the smartphone supports 3G, HSPA , and Bluetooth 4.0. It is powered by a 2,000mAh battery, which Intex claims can deliver talktime of 6 hours.

The Intex Aqua i4 comes preloaded with a number of apps such as WeChat and OLX. Intex is also offering 5GB of free cloud storage on Intex Cloud app. The smartphone is available in various colour options including Pearl Blue and Pearl White.

The new Intex smartphone seems to be a variant of the original Aqua i4 launched a few months ago. The Aqua i4 sports a 5-inch screen with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 8MP camera.

The Intext Aqua i4 will be pitted against other low-cost 5-inch smartphones in the market. Micromax has also launched a 5-inch smartphone in the under-Rs. 20,000 category. Called the Micromax Canvas Juice A77, the new phone features a 5-inch display, dual-core processor and with 1GB of RAM. The Canvas Juice is available for Rs. 7,999.
