Huawei’s Nexus smartphone specs leaked, has a 5.7-inch 2K display

Specs of a Huawei phone running Android 6.0 were found on GFXbench. According to the rumors, this phone, codenamed ‘Angler’, is the next Nexus from Google. Of course, as leaks and rumours have suggested so far, Google is making two new Nexus phones, with one being made by LG and the other, made by Huawei, might be this.

According to the GFXbench page, the Huawei Angler has a 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440p resolution. The device is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC which is clocked at 1.9GHz — slightly underclocked. There is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. The rear camera remains at 13MP and supports 4K recording, while the front-facing camera is now at 8MP. This is the first time Huawei is making a Nexus phone.

While the specifications are somewhat similar to previous rumors we have seen, the camera was expected to be at 21MP. On the other hand, the LG Nexus, which will reportedly be called the Nexus 5X, is rumored to have a more mainstream size. The ‘Nexus 5X’ is rumored to feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display. The device is supposed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 and 3GB of RAM. According to previous reports, LG’s Nexus 5X might come with a 5MP selfie camera and 13MP primary camera. The device has been widely leaked thus far.

The main feature of the two rumoured phones will however be Android’s new OS, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The new OS will bring Permissions and will allow users to select what permissions they want to give to various apps they use. Google’s new OS will also ensure better security overall as the fingerprint sensor API will be updated. Voicemail feature is built in the new OS. Google Chrome will bring new custom tabs, which can be used by app developers to build a seamless experience without jumping in and out of the app.

Common Android problems like memory leak and battery drain have also been addressed. Android 6.0 will bring a new better RAM manager and battery saving features like Doze, which should be able to quell battery drain issues. All these things are very minor updates compared to the supremely powerful Google Now, which Google showcased at Google I/O. At the Google I/O, in a demo Google showcased how Google Now is contextually aware. For example, while reading a book you will be able to tap a character’s name and ask or search about him without leaving your reading app.

Anyway, like every year Google hasn't announced any official date for when they're going to announce the new Nexus phones with Android 6.0 but a launch is expected later this month.
