Images have been leaked of an upcoming Honor phone featuring a slide out camera module.

Images have emerged of a new Honor phone, namely ATH-AL00 from Huawei with a sliding camera module. Going by the images leaked, courtesy of TENAA, the phone will not have a front-facing camera above the display. Instead, it will slide out from the back. It also seems that the phone will offer a very thin bezel. This sliding assembly will come out once when you push the dedicated button on the side.

According to the leaked images, the sliding assembly will house both camera modules, for the front as well as for the rear camera. It also has the dual-LED flash modules for both the front and rear cameras on the sliding mechanism itself. The alleged release button for the sliding camera may also feature an embedded fingerprint scanner. The phone looks quite similar to the Honor 7, which was launched recently. However, besides the images given below no other details of the phone have been leaked.

Honor, which currently sells phones like Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus in India, is expected to announce the Honor 7 later this year. The Honor 7, which is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 935 SoC is expected to launch in both its 16GB and 64GB variants. The phone has 3GB of RAM, same as the Honor 6 and 6 Plus. There is a 5.2-inch 1080p display but the phone feels lighter and smaller than the Honor 6 Plus.

The phone is running Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1, which is layered on top of Android Lollipop. The phone is featuring a full metal build with a plastic strip at the top and bottom for radio antennas. At the back, it features a 20MP camera, with phase detection autofocus, which will help in getting better focus. Below the rear camera, the phone also has a fingerprint sensor. At the front, there is an 8MP front-facing camera that comes with a LED flash as well. The phone is already selling in China with prices starting from CNY1,999 (Rs. 20,500 approx.).
