Android M comes with EMUI4.0, which adds new features like screen recording, compass and integrated support for Indian languages.

The Honor 5X smartphone is getting the Android Marshmallow udpate. Huawei launched the Honor 5x a few months back in India. Upon launch, the phone was only running Android 5.1.1 and the company had promised the Marshmallow update. It seems Huawei is finally delivering on its promise, as international models of the phone have started getting the update in the Asian region, and with the model number KIW-L22.

The update is rolling out directly Over the Air(OTA) through its HiCare application. You can read the detailed instructions on how to get the update, here. This update also features Huawei’s own EMUI 4.0, with a host of new features. Most notably, one can cancel their SMSs in up to four seconds after being sent. EMUI also features a compass application. There’s also a built-in screen recording feature to create their own short clips or even record gameplay. The updated Huawei Swype keyboard also has various Indian languages and can be downloaded with one click. Of course, there will also be changes that Marshmallow brings, such as Doze, and other improvements.

The Honor 5x has a Snapdragon 615 SOC along with 2GB of RAM. It has a 5MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. The phone has a full-metal body and is powered by a 3000 mAh battery. Huawei is also expected to launch the P9 smartphone soon in India. The company is reportedly also working on its own mobile operating system, which is a contingency plan, to avoid dependency on Android in future.
