Rumours suggest that Honor will launch a new budget phone called the Holly 2 Plus, alongside the Honor 5X, on January 28.
Latest rumours suggest that Huawei's sub-division Honor will be launching two new phones in India on January 28th. The rumour suggests that the company is likely to announce the Honor 5X and the Holly 2 Plus in India at an upcoming event. While the Honor 5X, which was launched in October 2015, will be finally making its way into India, the Holly 2 Plus is an all-new budget phone that hasn't been announced yet. Both phones are expected to priced below the Rs. 15,000 mark.
Of the two rumored phones, the Honor Holly 2 Plus is likely to be priced around Rs. 7,000. According to PC-tablet, the phone will be featuring a 5-inch HD display, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It might have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, alongside offering expandable storage via microSD cards. The rumour suggests that the phone will have a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. To power it all, the phone is supposed to be powered by a 4000mAh battery. The Honor 5X, which features a metal unibody design, was launched last year, and comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC. This octa-core SoC has been previously seen on the Yu Yureka Plus and the Xiaomi Mi 4i. The phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. It will support microSD cards of upto 128GB. It comes with a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens and dual-LED flash. On the front, the phone has a 5MP camera for all your selfie requirements. Going with the trend, Honor 5X will also offer a fingerprint scanner at the back. The phone will be running on EMUI 3.1 which will be layered on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
At launch, the Honor 5X was priced at 1399 Yuan (Rs. 14,800 approximately). The phone also came in a 2GB RAM variant, which was priced at 999 Yuan (Rs. 10,500 approximately).
