The Huawei Mate 20 Pro that was launched in India in December 2018 was packed with a number of very interesting features. One of those features was the company’s 15W Fast Charging tech, but unfortunately, the feature works with Huawei’s own wireless charger, which did not launch alongside the phone. Today, Huawei has announced that the charger will be available exclusively on Amazon.
Developed using Huawei’s own Supercharge technology, the Qi-enabled wireless charger features a number of value-add features. Besides offering charging speeds at 15 watts wirelessly, the charger also comes with foreign object detection. This ensures that in the event a key or a coin (or any other metal object) comes in between the phone and the charging pad, the charger would automatically switch off. The charger also comes with heat detection, turning the flow of electricity off once it senses high temperatures. Huawei says the charger the charger can charge phones through cases up to 5mm thick, as long as they are not made of metal.
The Huawei Wireless Charger will work with any smartphone that supports the Qi standard of wireless charging. You may not get the full 15-watt charge speed on every phone, as that will depend on the charging circuit on the smartphone. However, if you do own the new Huawei Mate 20 Pro (Review), you will be able to take advantage of the fast-wireless charging offered by the new wireless charger from Huawei. The charger is available for sale exclusively on Amazon India’s website for a retail price of Rs 3,999.
