Huawei has confirmed that it will launch the Huawei Y9 Prime on August 1 in India. A teaser has already appeared on Amazon India suggesting that the phone will retail on the e-commerce website. The mid-range phone has already been launched in China, and is priced between Rs 16,000 and Rs 18,000. The handset is expected to be priced in the same bracket. However, there is no concrete information about the price of the device yet.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 features a 6.59-inch full-HD+ LCD display that delivers an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the device is equipped with an Octa-core Kirin 710F processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes with two storage options – 64GB and 128GB. In the camera department, the phone sports a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP pop-up camera for selfies. The entire package is powered by a 4000mAh battery, and the phone runs EMUI 9 baked on Android 9 Pie.
The Y9 Prime is an upgrade over the Huawei Y9, which was launched in January 2019. It features a similar 6.5-inch LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. The smartphone runs on the HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. As far as the camera configuration is concerned, the smartphone has a 13MP + 2MP sensor at the back and a dual 16MP + 2MP sensor setup on the front. The phone is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
