Huawei P40 renders, specs leak, suggest 6.5-inch screen, 5500mAh battery
Specs and renders of the Huawei P40 have recently been leaked
They suggest the P40 will have a 6.5-inch 2K OLED screen
It will also have a camera bump on the back
It appears Chinese electronics company Huawei will go ahead with the global launch of its upcoming smartphone, the Huawei P40, despite being locked out of Google Mobile Services. Though we're still months away from the launch, we're beginning to see leaked specs and renders online that give us a hint about Huawei's upcoming device. From what we know so far, it will sport a 6.5-inch 2K OLED ‘Waterfall’ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 98-per cent screen-to-body ratio.. Its optics system will continue to be powered by Leica.
The Huawei P40's specs were recently revealed by leakster Yash Raj Chaudhary on Twitter. Though Chaudhary hasn't been in the business of leaking device news for a long time, his leaks are considered to be from legitimate sources. At any rate, we recommend you take them with a pinch of salt. His tweets suggest that the Huawei P40 will sport a Leica Penta Camera system, which includes a Sony IMX686 64MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 20MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto sensor along with a macro camera and time-of-flight sensor.
“Huawei P40 will innovatively apply graphene materials to the positive and negative electrodes and electrolytes of mobile phone batteries. This makes the battery capacity of Huawei P40 reach 5500mAh, but its volume is only 70% of that of lithium batteries,” informs Chaudhary on Twitter. The Huawei P40 is expected to employ a new 50W flash charging system, which should juice the battery up fully in 45 minutes. The device is expected to be powered by a Kirin 990 5G chipset, run Android-based EMUI 10, and sport two selfie cameras like the Nova 6 5G.
In another tweet, posted by Teme, we see a render that shows the side profile of the Huawei P40. We can tell it has a curved design around the sides and a visible camera bump on the back panel. The details revealed about its display line up with those shared by Chaudhary. We expect the Huawei P40 to be followed up with a ‘Pro’ version, which could sport similar specs. The Huawei P40 is expected to be announced in March 2020 in Europe. It should be interesting to see Huawei packages the software on its new device with any support from Google.
