Huawei P40 series is all set to be announced on March 26. Moreover, the company has already launched the Huawei P40 Lite and P40 Lite E in the market. However, ahead of the official announcement of the Huawei P40 Pro, its camera configuration has been leaked online. The P40 Pro is expected to feature a penta-lens rear camera setup and dual selfie shooters housed in a punch-hole display.
According to a popular tipster on Twitter, the Huawei P40 Pro will come equipped with as many as five cameras on its rear. He suggests that P40 Pro’s penta-lens camera system will comprise of the 1/1.28” Sony IMX700 52-megapixel Hexadeca Bayer RYYB lens, a 1/1.5” Sony IMX650 40-megapixel ultrawide Cine RGGB lens, a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a dual prism periscope zoom lens with 10x optical zoom and a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor.
Another leak suggests that this sensor will be a custom design by Sony and will feature “16-in-1” technology. Huawei is rumoured to put the “Quad Quad Bayer” sensor and it will do 4-in-1 conversions to reach the 16-in-1 stage. This will only be used for videos and photos shot under very dark conditions. Huawei P40 Pro is tipped to come with a 10x optical zoom camera. For this, the company is said to use a dual prism design (current periscope cams have only one prism).
Previous leaks have suggested that the Huawei P40 Pro may feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that will be curved on all four sides. It could be powered by the Kirin 990 5G chipset. The smartphone may offer a 12GB RAM variant as well. It is expected to come in colour options such as Black, Blush Gold, Silver Frost, Deep Sea Blue and Ice White.
