Huawei has confirmed that the Google Nexus 6P will be available in stores in November. The smartphone is available for pre-order now.
Recently google announced two new Nexus smartphones in India – the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. At launch, it was anticipated that the Nexus 6P will start shipping by October 21 but the shipments have been delayed. Huawei has confirmed that the Nexus 6P will be available for purchase in the first week of November. The company has also confirmed that the phone will ship in batches but the number of units are yet to be confirmed.
The Google Nexus 6P made by Huawei packing an impressive spec sheet in a unibody metal body. This is also the first time that a Nexus device features a fingerprint scanner. The 6P is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. This octa-core SoC has been subject to news stories this past year thanks to its overheating issues. What remains to be seen is whether the Nexus 6P can control the heating issues in the same way that we have seen on the OnePlus 2, which runs on the same SoC.
Besides the powerful 810 chipset, the Nexus 6P has 3GB of RAM and comes in two storage options – 32GB and 64GB. There are two colour options available as well – Aluminium (Silver) and graphite (Black). The Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch display with a 2K resolution in a body that is as big as last years Nexus 6 that was made by Motorola. One of the biggest flaws with a Nexus smartphone has been the camera. Huawei and Google have worked to change this and the smartphone now sports a 12.3MP camera which Google says works very well in low lit conditions. The camera module for the Nexus 6P is made by Sony. Initial impressions of the Nexus 6P suggest that the camera is capable and features a 1.55um pixel size as well as a faster focus. The phone has a 3450mAh sealed in battery and supports fast charging. Changing with times, Google has opted for a USB Type-C connector for both the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P.

Sanjeev, Vice President Sales, Huawei & Honor India – Consumer Business Group said “We are enthralled by the response to the Nexus 6P and thankful to all the Nexus fans who pre-booked the smartphone. Our supply chain is working on priority to fulfill the demand and the smartphones will be shipped out in batches. The first batch of the smartphone will be available in India starting first week of November. We are working closely with Flipkart and our retail partners on the availability of the smartphones to the Nexus 6P fans.”
The Google Nexus 6P is priced at Rs. 39,999 for the 32GB variant and Rs. 42,999 for the 64GB variant. The 6P will face tough competition from the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6 and the LG G4 to name a few.
