The device is only available in China. It starts at 19,999 Chinese Yuan, which is roughly Rs 2,35,000.

Huawei has released its official repair price list for the Mate XT.

The repair costs alone can buy you a higher-end iPhone 16.

Just a couple of days back, Huawei unveiled the world’s first dual-folding, triple-screen foldable phone. T is a mouthful to say in itself, isn’t it? Honestly, the Huawei Mate XT looked spectacular. It features both an inward and an outward folding hinge. So a normal-sized smartphone can be turned into a full-sized tablet. As you might have guessed, all of this glam also costs a lot. The prices of the smartphone are now out, let’s take a look.

Currently, the device is only available in China. It starts at 19,999 Chinese Yuan, which is roughly Rs 2,35,000. Damn, I can probably get a cheap second-hand car at that price. This is for the 16GB/256GB base variant. The 16GB/512GB variant is priced at 21,999 Chinese yuan (Rs 2,59,000 approx), while the top-tier 16GB/1TB version is priced at a hefty 23,999 Chinese yuan (Rs 2,82,000 approx).

Further, the maintenance and repair of the device will also cost a lot. According to a report by GSMArena, Huawei has released its official repair price list for the Mate XT. Replacing the screen costs 7,999 Chinese yuan (Rs 94,000 approx). If you prefer to keep the old display, the repair cost rises to 9,799 Chinese yuan (Rs 1,15,000 approx). In case of a motherboard failure, a replacement can reach up to 10,699 Chinese yuan (Rs 1,26,000 approx) for the 1TB model. The repair costs alone can buy you a higher-end iPhone 16.

We are not sure if the company will launch the Mate XT in the global market or not and if it will land in India. If it does, will you buy this phone? Will you go for the uniqueness or will you opt out because of the price? Let me know in the comments.
