Huawei Mate 9 Pro features second gen Leica dual rear camera setup
Huawei recently announced its 2016 flagship Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche Design in Europe few days back. Now the company is adding one more model to the series. Huawei has made Mate 9 Pro official in China, the third smartphone in the series exclusive to Chinese consumers.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The smartphone uses the same Kirin 960 chip initially announced with Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche Design. The smartphone is available in two models – 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and 6GB RAM, 128GB storage.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro also features the second generation dual Leica rear camera setup. Huawei Mate 9 Pro offers the same combination of 12MP + 20MP rear camera setup. The 12MP image sensor is a RGB one while the 20MP is a monochrome sensor for high-contrast black and white images. Other camera features include 2x zoom, laser autofocus, OIS and dual LED flash. There is an 8MP front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for those interested in selfies.
The Mate 9 Pro's fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button, similar to Porsche Design Mate 9. Huawei Mate 9 Pro houses a 4000mAh battery, which is standard among all the models. The smartphone also supports Huawei's proprietary SuperCharge fast charging technology.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro starts at 4,699 Yuan (approximately Rs 46,999) in China and will be available in gold, rose gold, gray and silver colour variants, reports GizmoChina. Huawei Mate 9 Pro runs Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.0 on top of it. The company has not announced the global availability of the device yet.
